    Another gloomy day is in store with extensively cloudy skies and any brightness likely to be short-lived. Whilst it will generally remain dry, a few spots of drizzle are possible in places. It will feel rather cold despite light winds. Maximum Temperature 7 °C.


    Remaining largely cloudy overnight, however there's a slightly greater prospect of a few brief clearer spells. Most places staying above freezing but a touch of frost is possible locally. Minimum Temperature 0 °C.


    Staying predominantly cloudy, with the possibility of some drizzle over the hills. Slightly brighter at times with a few sunnier intervals developing. Feeling less cold but becoming breezier. Maximum Temperature 9 °C.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

    Showery rain at first on Thursday but brightening up later although also rather breezy. Becoming cloudier on Friday with lighter winds. Mostly dry and bright on Saturday. Turning milder.

    Most areas cold and cloudy but dry today.


    Another cold, mostly cloudy but dry day for most. A few breaks over Northern Ireland, whilst parts of eastern Scotland and northeast England should see some good sunny spells. Windy in the far north with some rain for northwest Scotland.


    Mostly cloudy for many overnight, cloud thick enough for a little patchy rain in the west. Some breaks developing in the north later. Windy and showery in the far north.


    Cold and mostly cloudy but dry again for southern England. Brighter at times elsewhere, but some rain developing in the north later, mainly northwest Scotland. Windy in the north.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

    Unsettled and often windy across the north with gales around some coasts, also some rain mostly across hills of north and northwest Scotland. Mostly dry for the south. Becoming mild.

    UK Outlook for Saturday 29 Jan 2022 to Monday 7 Feb 2022:

    At the start of this period, there is a general north-south split to the weather, with wetter and windier conditions in the north, and drier and cloudier conditions in the south. More organised rain is expected to push southeastwards through Saturday, with brighter spells following. For the remainder of January, more showery and windy weather is likely to continue in the northwest with possible wintry showers over the higher ground of Scotland, whereas the south and southeast is likely to remain dry. Temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly milder than average. Heading into February, the north-south split of weather is likely to continue in the beginning, while there is an increasing likelihood of more widespread unsettled conditions later.

    UK Outlook for Tuesday 8 Feb 2022 to Tuesday 22 Feb 2022:

    Moving into mid-February, there is an increased likelihood of more unsettled conditions becoming established, with the northwest likely to be the wettest area, but showers or longer spells of rain may spread to most areas at times, but with the southeast likely to be the driest. Spells of strong winds are likely to develop more widely at times. Temperatures likely to be near or slightly above average although short lived colder interludes are possible. Any snow likely to be restricted to high ground in the north.
