    A wet evening as a band of heavy rain moves eastwards, accompanied by strong winds. The rain will clear by midnight, but further rain arrives from the north by dawn. Minimum Temperature 8 °C.


    A cloudy and damp start, but skies quickly brightening, leaving many with a dry and sunny day with a few showers in the west. Feeling much colder than of late. Maximum Temperature 13 °C.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Friday will be largely dry but again feeling rather cold. It then turns milder as we head into the weekend, with bands of rain accompanied by stronger winds moving in.

    Heavy rain over southern England tonight, all areas colder Thursday.

    This Evening and Tonight:

    Early evening cloud and heavy rain over southwest England spreads eastwards across southern England, before clearing later. Further north, cloud and rain affects Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England for a time before clear spells and showers follow later.


    Early rain over southern UK soon clears. Otherwise, a bright but much colder day than of late with sunny spells but also some showers in the north and west.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Cold start Friday, with scattered showers. Many areas however staying dry, though breezy. Dry and cold start Saturday, before rain, stronger winds and milder weather spreads from the northwest.

    UK Outlook for Monday 25 Oct 2021 to Wednesday 3 Nov 2021:

    Sunshine and scattered showers to start to the period on Monday, these showers will be mostly widespread and heavy in the northwest. More organised showers potentially developing in the southwest. Winds will be moderate to fresh for most. Showers continuing in the west on Tuesday before more prolonged, organised rain arrives. Temperatures trending upwards through the first few days of this period before they remain just above average. The rest of October will be dominated by weather arriving from the Atlantic. Often unsettled and windy, with outbreaks of rain. Wettest in the north and west. Briefer dry interludes. Driest conditions likely across south and southeastern areas. Winds lighter here, with risk of overnight fog at times.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 4 Nov 2021 to Thursday 18 Nov 2021:

    To start the period remaining unsettled as before, but from early to mid-November increasing chance of settled weather but confidence of this is very low. Temperatures are likely to be warmer than average for most. Perhaps some colder spells and an increasing chance of frost and fog towards the end of this period but confidence of this is very low.
