    Remaining windy, but these winds should very gradually ease. Generally rather cloudy, with bands of blustery showers merging to longer spells of rain. Feeling rather cold. Maximum Temperature 8 °C.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

    Remaining unsettled and breezy, with some sunshine, but also showers or longer spells of rain. Remaining rather cold, but probably becoming milder and wetter through Saturday.

    Heavy rain and snow, with blizzards on high ground, clearing northwards across Scotland. Elsewhere, clear spells and blustery showers, with some longer spells of rain at times. Winds easing for most, but severe gales persisting along some western coasts.

    Wednesday:

    Often cloudy with showers or longer periods of rain. Remaining windy for many but coastal gales in the west slowly moderating.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

    Mainly unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain although occasionally brighter in the east. Often windy and rather cold though snow mainly restricted to high ground in the north.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 12 Dec 2021 to Tuesday 21 Dec 2021:

    A chance of bright spells in the east, with showers feeding in from western coasts to begin the period. A chance of further cloud and persistent rain to move into parts of the west. Hill snow likely in the north. Temperatures generally around average, with a chance of strong winds along southern and northwestern coasts. Moving through the period, largely unsettled conditions are likely to persist, with the chance of further showers and longer spells of rain, heavy in places, with a chance of gales for some exposed areas. Potential for drier and brighter conditions in the east at times. Some showers are likely to turn wintry at higher elevations. Towards the end of the period, more settled conditions may develop with some cold interludes likely.

    Going into the Christmas period, temperatures are most likely to be close to normal for the time of year, although some colder spells remain possible. It is likely to become more settled around Christmas and towards New Year with increased chance of overnight frost and fog during clearer spells.
