    Showers at first, easing away to sunny spells. Cold.

    A cloudy start, with a few showers, perhaps wintry across the hills, soon easing. Some sunny spells then developing, and becoming prolonged later. Although showers, perhaps heavy, could continue across far western parts. Brisk winds easing, but staying rather cold. Maximum Temperature 8 °C.

    Tonight:

    Winds easing, with clear spells leading to a cold night, and some frost and fog patches. However less cold in the east, with cloud and showers spreading west. Minimum Temperature -2 °C.

    Thursday:

    Any early mist and fog will gradually lift, with a cloudy day following. Mainly dry, although the odd shower will remain possible. Less cold than on Wednesday, with lighter winds. Maximum Temperature 8 °C.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Staying rather cloudy throughout. Mostly dry, although showers will remain possible. Greatest risk in the far southwest, and on Saturday. Temperature likely recovering a little, but still remaining rather chilly.

    Another cold day with frequent showers.

    Today:

    Frequent showers, locally wintry over hills. Heaviest and most frequent showers over northeast England, Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland as well as south and southwest England. Sunny spells elsewhere. Feeling cold. Windy in the north and west.

    Tonight:

    Showers in the west clearing. Cloud and some showers moving into eastern parts then perhaps central areas later. Clearer slot in between with widespread frost and freezing fog patches.

    Thursday:

    Cloudy in the east with some showers. Cold but bright start in the west, turning cloudier. Heavy showers into the southwest later with hail and thunder. Still rather cold.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Often cloudy though some bright spells, mainly towards the west and northwest. Scattered showers most frequent in the east but also southwest where still heavy and thundery. Less cold.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

    UK Outlook for Monday 26 Nov 2018 to Wednesday 5 Dec 2018:

    Many places will be dry early next week, but often with large amounts of cloud around. Eastern and perhaps southern parts however may continue to see some showers around initially, with the a few heavier showers possible. The west and southwest of the UK will then likely turn more unsettled as we finish November, with these conditions possibly progressing northeastwards. It will generally remain on the cold side for the time of year, with the risk of some frosty nights and also some transient hill snow. Into early December, there is a lot of uncertainty in the forecast, as there is the chance of either a short-lived milder spell with winds from the west, or perhaps colder but drier weather if the winds turn more northerly or northeasterly.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 6 Dec 2018 to Thursday 20 Dec 2018:

    Through this period, there is likely to be a continuation of cold and mainly dry weather for much of the UK, with sunny spells and a few showers. However, there is a chance the weather pattern may change temporarily, with fronts moving in from Atlantic. This would bring longer spells of rain, interspersed with brighter, showery interludes, and it would also become less cold. However, even if this change does happen, it won't be long before we have more settled weather again, perhaps by the middle of December. This would mean a return to colder conditions, with overnight frost and fog more likely.
