    A mostly cold day, and initially dry with some bright spells in the east. However, cloud will thicken through the morning bringing persistent rain eastwards from mid-morning onwards, reaching Kent by early afternoon. Becoming milder in the west after dark. Maximum Temperature 10 °C.

    Tonight:

    Mild with spells of rain clearing eastwards during the evening, leaving a mainly dry and fairly cloudy conditions with light winds. Further rain possible across Hampshire by dawn. Minimum Temperature 5 °C.

    Monday:

    A milder day than of late, with predominantly dry conditions developing after any persistent rain clears western and southern counties early on. Chance of a few brighter spells. Maximum Temperature 8 °C.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Breezy with occasional rain on Tuesday, and milder than of late. Becoming windy Tuesday night with rain during Wednesday, turning heavy and squally for a time. Sunshine and showers Thursday.

    Turning wet and milder after some snow.

    Today:

    A wet, cloudy start for western and southwestern UK. Windy in far west. Cold, dry elsewhere. Rain then spreading eastwards bringing snow to northern high ground and temporarily to lower levels, mainly in east. Snow will turn increasingly to rain.

    Tonight:

    Rain and hill-snow will clear to leave a dry, cloudy night with scattered showers in the northwest. Heavy rain then arriving in far southwest.

    Monday:

    Rain clearing the southwest soon after dawn. Then, mainly dry for much of the UK, although with showers in the northwest. Windy in the far northwest. Milder for most.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Tuesday, generally mild and cloudy, and wet for western parts of the UK. Heavy, showery rain and strong winds clearing during Wednesday with sunshine and blustery showers following for Thursday.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 25 Jan 2018 to Saturday 3 Feb 2018:

    After a bright but brief colder and showery interlude at the end of the week with frost likely overnight it will become milder and changeable again. This means that many of us will see brighter, showery periods interspersed with bands of cloud and rain. Rain is likely to be heaviest in western parts with snow possible over the high ground, and it will be driest in the south and east. Also, it will be windy at times particularly in the northwest. However, as we head through to the end of January, it is likely to turn mainly dry and perhaps a touch colder, particularly in the south, with overnight frost and fog more likely here. Winds are expected to ease overall with strong winds becoming mostly restricted to the north.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 4 Feb 2018 to Sunday 18 Feb 2018:

    Early February is likely to bring relatively settled conditions with a good deal of dry weather, relatively light winds and frost and fog expected to form overnight. However spells of wet and windy weather are still likely across the north. There is considerable uncertainty at this stage however, as we head towards the middle of February we are most likely to see short spells of wet and windy weather move across the UK, interspersed with colder, brighter and drier interludes. Throughout this period temperatures are expected to average out at close to normal but it will be colder at times during the periods of more settled weather
