    Another hot and sunny day, however showers developing later.


    The hot spell will continue today, with plenty of sunshine albeit rather hazy at times. A few showers may develop later in the afternoon, perhaps turning thundery in places, although most will remain dry. Maximum Temperature 35 °C.


    Any showers fading away during the evening, leaving a dry and clear night. Remaining warm with another uncomfortable night to sleep expected. Minimum Temperature 16 °C.


    Remaining very warm although skies will be cloudier than of late. Some scattered thunderstorms will develop, especially during the afternoon, but many places will remain dry throughout. Maximum Temperature 27 °C.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    A greater chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms on Tuesday. Showers will gradually clear on Wednesday as it turns fresher, then largely dry with bright spells on Thursday.

    Heavy showers and thunderstorms across many areas on Tuesday, becoming confined to the southeast during Wednesday. Most places dry Thursday, though rain in the northwest later. Cooler than of late.

    UK Outlook for Friday 19 Aug 2022 to Sunday 28 Aug 2022:

    Cloud and rain will start moving into northwestern areas on Friday but remaining dry and bright in the southeast. A keen breeze may develop across the north and northwest towards the end of the week. Periods of rain will alternate with drier and clearer weather over the weekend and into the start of next week. Any prolonged rain is expected to occur across northern parts. Temperatures likely near normal at first, but becoming rather warm again further into the period, especially in the south. Unsettled conditions will likely dominate in most areas towards the end of the period, with a chance of showers in the south and some further spells of rain in the north.

    The conditions are likely to become generally more settled towards the end of August. Moving into the start of September, the north and west may see periods of rain which could occasionally spread further south and east. Some brighter and more settled periods are also expected, especially across the southern and eastern parts. Temperatures are likely to trend above average with the chance of occasional very warm spells.
