Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Thursday 4 Jan 2018 to Saturday 13 Jan 2018:

The end of next week is set to remain unsettled with bands of rain interspersed by showers moving across the country. It will also be windy, with the risk of gales or severe gales at times. As we go into the first weekend of the New Year the weather is likely to turn colder for many northern and western areas, and here there could be some wintry showers as well as overnight frosts. More frequent showers or perhaps longer spells of rain could continue across the south at first, before colder and probably drier conditions arrive here. It will be windy at times, with a risk of gales at first. The following week is likely to start cold with overnight frosts, but more unsettled conditions may begin to develop later.

UK Outlook for Sunday 14 Jan 2018 to Sunday 28 Jan 2018:

During the second half of January a return to more unsettled weather looks likely, but exactly when this occurs is still subject to a lot of uncertainty. As changeable conditions become re-established we will see spells of rain, showers and strong winds moving across the country, but always with a risk of wintry conditions and a threat of snow, especially at the start of this period. It is likely to be windy, with a risk of gales at times. Temperatures are likely to average out around normal for January, but oscillating between milder during the spells of wind and rain, and colder during any more settled or showery periods.
