    Regional forecast for West Midlands

    Heavy rain and thunderstorms today. Feeling colder but drier tomorrow.

    Today:

    A band of showery rain will spread east across the area this morning, turning heavy and thundery in places. This afternoon will see some sunshine, but also some further showers. Despite the rain it will be another mild feeling day. Maximum Temperature 16 °C.

    Tonight:

    Showers will fade this evening, leaving many areas dry by midnight. A band of rain though will then spread south during the early hours, before clearing again by dawn. Minimum Temperature 7 °C.

    Thursday:

    A colder but drier day on Thursday with plenty of sunshine, especially during the morning. Some showers will develop though, especially across northwestern areas, Maximum Temperature 12 °C.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Feeling cold with a few showers again on Friday. It will then turn milder as we head throughout the weekend, with rain spreading in by Sunday accompanied by stronger winds.

    Unsettled and windy Wednesday. Colder and drier for most Thursday.

    Today:

    Windy with rain and showers for many, particularly Wales, southwest and central England where lightning and hail likely, mostly during the morning. Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and far north of England mostly dry. Warm in southeast but cooler in north.

    Tonight:

    Heavy rain running east across southern England with coastal gales possible. Much of Wales and central England dry. Windy with rain and showers over Scotland moving south. Turning colder.

    Thursday:

    Much colder across entire UK and feeling cold in the north and east with strong winds and gales in the far northeast. Showers feeding into northern and some western parts.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Cold start Friday, with scattered showers in the north. Many other areas dry, though breezy. Dry and cold start again Saturday, before rain and milder weather spreads from the west.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 24 Oct 2021 to Tuesday 2 Nov 2021:

    A wet start to the period on Sunday with showers, sometimes heavy in the west and risk of thunderstorms in the northwest. Turning windier again with a chance of coastal gales in the west and northwest. Becoming more settled early in the week, especially in the west. Initially cold, with chance of overnight rural frost, and showers wintry over highest ground. Temperatures trending upwards through the period. The rest of October will be dominated by weather arriving from the Atlantic. Often unsettled and windy, with outbreaks of rain. Wettest in the north and west. Briefer dry interludes. Driest conditions likely across south and southeastern areas. Winds lighter here, with risk of overnight fog at times.

    UK Outlook for Wednesday 3 Nov 2021 to Wednesday 17 Nov 2021:

    The beginning of this period will likely remain unsettled with many systems arriving from the Atlantic. It will remain wet and windy with the wettest and windiest conditions in the north and west. Driest conditions across the south especially the southeast with lighter winds but the risk of overnight fog at times. From early to mid-November increasing chance of settled weather but confidence of this is very low. Temperatures are likely to be warmer than average for most. Perhaps some colder spells and an increasing chance of frost and fog towards the end of this period but confidence of this is very low.
