    Rain will ease, allowing it to become drier for a time. However, through the early hours, it will turn damp again with rain, drizzle and some hill fog. Staying mild. Minimum Temperature 12 °C.

    Wednesday:

    Early rain and drizzle will clear southwards, allowing it to become dry, with bright or sunny spells. It should feel mild in the sunshine and lighter winds. Maximum Temperature 16 °C.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

    Outbreaks of rain are possible at times on Thursday, but it will remain mild. Friday and Saturday will turn drier and brighter but cooler, with some chilly nights.

    Today:

    A cloudy start with some rain, mainly in the north and west. Scotland and Northern Ireland will become brighter though, with a few showers. Elsewhere will stay mostly cloudy but mild, with any rain mainly confined to the west. Breezy.

    Tonight:

    Rain across northern and western parts of England and Wales will move north then back south, becoming confined to southern counties by dawn. Clearer skies and a few showers elsewhere.

    Wednesday:

    It will stay mostly cloudy across southern England, but mild. Elsewhere will be dry and bright, with some sunny spells. Staying windy across northern Scotland with showers here.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

    Rather cloudy and mild in the south Thursday, with hill fog and drizzle. Brighter but fresher weather in the north, filtering to all parts Friday. Staying cool and breezy Saturday.

    UK Outlook for Saturday 28 Oct 2017 to Monday 6 Nov 2017:

    The weekend will be mainly dry and bright in the south and west but cloudier with rain or showers in the north and east. It will be breezy, with gales possible in the north. Temperatures will be lower than this week, perhaps bringing overnight frost in places. Next week the weather is likely to become changeable again and sometimes windy, with rain bands crossing the country, interspersed by brighter, showery weather. The north is likely to get the wettest and windiest weather. It will probably become a good deal colder than of late, bringing an increased risk of early morning frosts across the country. There is also a chance of snow over high ground in Scotland, and perhaps at lower levels in the far north as the wind turns northerly.

    UK Outlook for Tuesday 7 Nov 2017 to Tuesday 21 Nov 2017:

    There is an increasing chance that the weather will become more settled during this period, especially across southern parts of the British Isles. As a result frost and fog will become more likely. The north may continue to have more changeable weather though. Temperatures are most likely to be near average, although probably below normal in some of the more settled spells, especially where any overnight fog proves slow to clear.
