    Any lingering rain clearing during the evening. It will become cold under clear skies with light winds allowing a widespread frost to develop with a risk of icy patches. Minimum Temperature -2 °C.

    Saturday:

    Rain and hill snow spreading northeast through the morning. Becoming bright and breezy later with the odd shower, and feeling less cold. Maximum Temperature 8 °C.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

    It will remain milder than of late throughout, and changeable with spells of rain or showers interspersed with drier, brighter intervals. Windy at times with a risk of gales.

    Heavy rain, falling as snow in some northern parts.

    Today:

    Gales and heavy rain this morning, with snow across northern England and southern Scotland. Significant accumulations are likely, mainly on high ground. Brightening up later, especially across southern England and Wales, but still a few heavy, perhaps thundery showers.

    Tonight:

    Further heavy rain and perhaps hill snow pushing into England and Wales overnight, easing by the morning. Elsewhere rather cloudy with clear spells, and a frost for many northern parts.

    Saturday:

    Bright start in the north, but heavy rain and hill snow through much of the day. Elsewhere mainly dry and bright, rain in far south. Windy, but milder than recently.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

    Sunday heavy rain and hill snow clearing Scotland. Otherwise bright with some heavy showers, strong winds and gales. Monday bright, showery and windy. Tuesday heavy rain and hill snow later.

    UK Outlook for Wednesday 3 Jan 2018 to Friday 12 Jan 2018:

    The middle of next week is set to remain unsettled with further bands of rain interspersed by showers moving across the country. It will also be windy, with the risk of gales and severe gales across the west. Heading into the first weekend of the New Year and the weather is likely to turn more showery and probably a little colder. The showers will be most frequent in the west, and perhaps turning to snow at times towards the north. Winds also remaining strong with gales possible at times. Thereafter it is likely to remain unsettled with further spells of rain, showers and strong winds. temperatures will tend to trend back to nearer normal, but there will still be a continued risk of snow in northern and central parts.

    UK Outlook for Saturday 13 Jan 2018 to Saturday 27 Jan 2018:

    Probably remaining unsettled throughout the period, with further spells of rain, showers and strong winds moving across the country. The rain and showers will be most frequent in the west, with a continued risk of snow across northern and central parts in particular. There is however a chance of a more settled spell developing around the middle of next month bringing a risk of widespread frosts and fog. Temperatures likely to average out around normal for January, oscillating between milder during the spells of wind and rain, and colder during the more settled and showery periods.
