UK forecast for the next 5 days

A marked change to cooler, unsettled weather spreading south.

    Today:

Most parts largely sunny, after any mist clears; turning very warm again by afternoon. Rain in the far northwest sinks south, with the odd downpour possible, most likely in south and east Scotland, followed by a sharp downturn in temperatures.

    Tonight:

Cloudier skies and outbreaks of rain develop more widely, although not reaching the southeast, while some parts don’t see much. Freshening breeze. Mild in the south but chilly in north.

    Wednesday:

Cloud and rain continuing south with possible localised downpours and thunderstorms across southern England, perhaps south Wales. Turning drier in the north. All parts much cooler to end the day.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Persistent rain soon clearing Southeast England, then sunshine and showers everywhere, mainly East, Thursday and Friday. Cloud, rain and gales in Northeast spreading to East Saturday, elsewhere sun and showers.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Saturday 6 Jun 2020 to Monday 15 Jun 2020:

The beginning of this period looks to be rather cool with a shift to a more changeable regime. Sunny spells and showers are likely across many parts, though the most frequent showers are expected across the north and east, perhaps with a longer spell of rain too. The best of the drier conditions appear to be in the south and west, where there should be a good deal of bright or sunny spells. Looking ahead into next week, there seems to be a continuation of the changeable setup with further outbreaks of rain or showers, although there is considerable uncertainty. Longer drier, brighter spells could develop generally towards mid-June, especially across northern and western areas.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 16 Jun 2020 to Tuesday 30 Jun 2020:

From the middle of June, there should be a return to more settled conditions with longer drier and brighter spells. This period should be generally drier than average, though there is still the possibility of some more changeable spells, these becoming more focused across northwestern areas later in the month. Temperatures are more likely to be above average in the south, but nearer normal further north.
