    Any remaining showers dying away through the early evening, allowing skies to become predominantly clear for the overnight period. Winds will fall light, making for a chilly night. Minimum Temperature 7 °C.

    Saturday:

    Saturday starting fine and dry, but chilly. Cloud increasing from late morning, but generally it should remain dry. Light winds. Maximum Temperature 20 °C.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

    Sunday and Monday rather cloudy, with perhaps the odd spot of light rain, but generally dry. Dry Tuesday with increased spells of sunshine. Becoming warmer through the period.

    Today:

    Central and northern parts will have a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers, some heavy this morning with risk of thunder. Dry across southern areas with long spells of sunshine.

    Tonight:

    Showers soon fading, then a dry and cool night under clear skies. However, turning cloudier across the northwest with some rain later.

    Saturday:

    Rain at times across the far north, with a few showers as far south as northern England. Fine and dry further south with sunny periods.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

    Mainly dry and fine with light winds and lengthy sunny spells, but cloud, rain and stronger winds at times for north/northwest Scotland. Cool nights initially, but daytime temperatures increasing daily.

    UK Outlook for Tuesday 9 Aug 2022 to Thursday 18 Aug 2022:

    Most places are likely to see a fair amount of settled weather throughout this period. Cloudy at first in the far north and northwest, with some outbreaks of light rain possible. Mostly dry elsewhere with long sunny spells, especially across the south. Generally warm, and locally very warm or even hot in central and southern parts. Winds light to moderate for most, but fresh to strong in the far northwest, and becoming breezy near south and southeastern coasts. Further into the period there is still the chance of some periods of organised rain in the north, but generally the dry weather is likely to persist across the country. Temperatures remaining above average widely, with further spells of very warm weather possible.

    UK Outlook for Friday 19 Aug 2022 to Friday 2 Sep 2022:

    Occasional bouts of more unsettled weather are likely for this period. These will bring outbreaks of rain and also increase the likelihood of thunderstorms, especially in the south and west. Temperatures near normal to warm, but very warm and humid at times in the south.
