Regional forecast for North West England

Feeling warm, but rain pushing in from the west.

A bright and dry evening in the south, until cloud and outbreaks of showery rain arrives from the west, locally heavy at times. Driest further south. A mild night. Minimum Temperature 13 °C.

Cloudy and wet on Sunday, with some organised heavy showers passing over at times. Turning drier by the evening, with possibly some sunny spells before sunset. Maximum Temperature 19 °C.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Long spells of sunshine on Monday and Tuesday after early mist and fog clears, though the odd shower possible. Winds increasing by Tuesday. A band of rain arriving on Wednesday.

UK forecast for the next 5 days

Some areas staying fine on Saturday but scattered showers.

Fog patches lifting by mid-morning, then fine across northwestern UK, as well parts of the south, where some warm sunshine is expected. In between, a band of patchy rain, while odd heavy showers may develop across southwestern regions.

Rain probably becoming more widespread and heavier for some western and northern areas. Either side of this, mostly dry although with a few fog patches possible in clearer areas.

Bands of cloud and patchy rain edging east, with heavy, perhaps thundery, downpours likely across parts of eastern England later. Further west it should gradually turn drier and brighter.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Showers in the east and far northwest on Monday, otherwise largely fine early next week with sunny spells. Turning unsettled from the northwest later on Tuesday and into Wednesday.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 22 Sep 2021 to Friday 1 Oct 2021:

A band of cloud and rain, heavy at times, looks likely to cross the UK on Wednesday, with sunny spells and showers either side of this. Thursday and Friday look to be unsettled and much of the country will see showers or longer spells of rain. Coastal gales likely in the northwest. From the weekend onwards, a northwest to southeast split to our weather is likely to develop. The northwest is expected to see the most unsettled conditions: outbreaks of rain, which could be heavy at times, and strong winds, possibly coastal gales. Drier and sunnier weather looks more likely across the southeast, though unsettled weather in the northwest could still spread here at times. Temperatures generally near or slightly above average, with some chilly and misty nights possible.

UK Outlook for Saturday 2 Oct 2021 to Saturday 16 Oct 2021:

Current signals, although quite weak, suggest that higher pressure is expected over the southeast during this period, giving generally settled conditions here and to eastern parts. Conversely, low pressure will tend to lie to the northwest of the UK, bringing more in the way of rain and stronger winds to northern and western areas. This more unsettled weather could occasionally spread further towards the southeast. Temperatures are more likely to be above average through this period.
