    Mist, fog burning back to eastern coastal fringes during morning. Very warm to hot for many. Mainly dry start with some brightness. Showers building, turning heavy during afternoon, bringing risk hail and thunderstorms, however a significant minority will stay dry. Maximum Temperature 30 °C.


    Showers continuing with the risk of thunderstorms lingering well into the evening, before tending to dwindle through the night. Low cloud continuing across eastern coastal fringes. Minimum Temperature 11 °C.


    Significantly cooler. Rather cloudy and showery day with outbreaks quite frequent, occasionally heavy and perhaps prolonged with further chance of thunderstorms, particularly for afternoon. Further low cloud around eastern coasts. Maximum Temperature 24 °C.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Rather cloudy, showery weather early Tuesday, clearing as largely dry, bright, fresher conditions feed erratically from the west. Wednesday and Thursday mainly dry and occasionally bright.

    Hot today, but increasing showers and thunderstorms next few days.


    Some mist and low cloud on coasts in the north, although sunny and hot for many. Very isolated thunderstorms possible over central and western areas, whilst more frequent heavy and possibly thundery showers affect parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.


    Areas of showers, some heavy and thundery in the north and west, mostly dry, but very warm and humid in south and east. Low cloud in the north.


    Hot and humid with sunny spells and scattered thunderstorms developing over parts of England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland, cloudier with heavy thundery rain in places.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Heavy showers and thunderstorms across many areas on Tuesday, becoming confined to the southeast during Wednesday. Most places dry Thursday, though rain in the northwest later. Cooler than of late.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 18 Aug 2022 to Saturday 27 Aug 2022:

    The start of the period will be generally settled for most, although some heavy showers remain possible in the southeast on Thursday. Drier conditions with spells of sunshine are expected elsewhere. Cloud and rain will start moving into western areas on Friday. A keen breeze may develop across the north and northwest towards the end of the week. Periods of rain will alternate with drier and clearer weather over the weekend and into the start of next week. Any prolonged rain is expected to occur across the northern parts. Temperatures likely near normal at first, but becoming rather warm again further into the period, especially in the south. Unsettled conditions will dominate in most areas towards the end of the period.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 28 Aug 2022 to Sunday 11 Sep 2022:

    The conditions are likely to become generally more settled towards the end of August. Moving into the start of September, the north and west may see periods of rain which could occasionally spread further south and east. Some brighter and more settled periods are also expected, especially across the southern and eastern parts. Temperatures are likely to trend above average with the chance of occasional very warm spells.
