    Cloudy and misty with fog over hills, and outbreaks of rain becoming persistent and heavy, especially over Pennine hills. Winds will become southerly, and strong in exposed areas. Minimum Temperature 15 °C.

    Sunday:

    Occasionally heavy rain will become lighter and more intermittent during the morning. Some bright spells may develop during the afternoon. Strong winds will become northwesterly and slowly ease. Maximum Temperature 19 °C.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Rather cloudy through the period with occasional rain, and some warm sunny intervals, especially in eastern areas. A band of rain will clear southwards on Wednesday, then brighter and fresher.

    Today:

    Rather cloudy in the west with outbreaks of rain over parts of Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northwest England in particular. Elsewhere, mostly dry with some sunny spells. Strong winds across northern Scotland easing, and humid across England and Wales.

    Tonight:

    Persistent and occasionally heavy rain initially developing across Northern Ireland, then southern Scotland, northwest England and north Wales later. Becoming windy in the southwest and through the Irish Sea.

    Sunday:

    Heavy rain will clear northern England and southern and eastern Scotland through the morning. Humid with some further drizzle at times across parts of the south. Sunniest across northern Scotland.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Humid for most parts, and becoming very warm in any sunshine, with warm nights too. Rain, mainly in the northwest, moving southeast by midweek, with fresher conditions following on.

    UK Outlook for Wednesday 22 Aug 2018 to Friday 31 Aug 2018:

    Cloud and rain will sink south on Wednesday across central areas of the UK. To the south, it could stay dry with some warm spells of sunshine. To the north, it will turn fresher with sunshine and showers. Rain will likely clear across the south by Thursday and it will fresher for all with sunny spells and heavy showers in the north. Through the rest of the week and weekend there will probably be a good deal of dry, bright or sunny weather, especially in the south, while the far west and northwest will have some thicker cloud and rain at times. This weather pattern is quite likely to continue through the rest of the period, with temperatures probably around normal, but perhaps rather cool in the north and northwest.

    UK Outlook for Saturday 1 Sep 2018 to Saturday 15 Sep 2018:

    During this period it looks likely that the weather pattern will only change slowly. Areas of high pressure and associated settled weather are likely to dominate across the south and southeast, bringing generally dry and bright weather here. More changeable conditions with outbreaks of rain and strong winds are likely across the north and northwest, perhaps extending southeastwards at times. Through September, confidence in the forecast decreases. However, we will probably see longer dry and settled spells at times, these perhaps becoming more dominant than previously in the north and northwest. Temperatures by day are likely to be generally warmer than average, but there will an increasing chance of chillier nights.
