    Rain clearing eastwards during the day with blustery showers following, mainly to northwestern parts. Still windy with some coastal gales associated with rain and showers. Feeling much cooler.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

    Sunshine and blustery showers Thursday and Friday, showers heaviest and most frequent in the north and west. Saturday drier but becoming cloudier with wind/rain perhaps returning to western areas later.

    This period is likely to be characterised by unsettled weather with showers and longer periods of rain expected across most areas at first. The heaviest and most frequent rain is expected in the west and northwest, while southeastern areas are likely to remain drier on average. Changeable conditions are likely to remain later into the period with a split between east and west areas. Rain and showers expected to remain most frequent in the west with drier weather expected to the east. Breezy conditions are expected throughout the period, with a risk of severe gales across exposed areas in the northwest at times. Temperatures will generally be close to normal with some cooler nights, bringing the chance of mist and fog in places.
