    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Mostly cloudy with showery rain on Monday, perhaps heavy and thundery. Brighter and cooler on Tuesday and Wednesday with a fresh northerly breeze on Tuesday.

    Sunny and very hot for most areas, although cooler on some northeast coasts with patchy mist and cloud. Further cloud and some rain in the far north. Small chance of a heavy shower over northern hills later.

    Tonight:

    Some low cloud in the north with a few fog patches developing in northeast England and Northern Ireland. Risk of heavy showers in northwest later. Otherwise fine and warm.

    Sunday:

    Sunny and very hot for many, but very isolated thunderstorms may develop in central and western areas. More frequent heavy and possibly thundery showers parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Heavy, thundery showers for many areas, though also drier periods, and becoming mostly dry Scotland and Northern Ireland by Wednesday. Still hot southeast at first, otherwise becoming cooler and fresher.

    UK Outlook for Wednesday 17 Aug 2022 to Friday 26 Aug 2022:

    A generally unsettled start to the period for many with a risk of some prolonged heavy or thundery showers in the south and east. In contrast, the north is expected to see more settled conditions with a fair amount of cloud. The southwest may experience the best of any sunshine, while areas of more persistent yet lighter rain are likely in the northwest. Into the weekend, periods of rain will alternate with drier and clearer weather. Any prolonged rain is expected to occur across the northern parts. Temperatures likely near normal at first, but becoming rather warm again further into the period, especially in the south. Unsettled conditions will continue to dominate for most towards the end of the period.

    UK Outlook for Saturday 27 Aug 2022 to Saturday 10 Sep 2022:

    The conditions are likely to become generally more settled towards the end of August. Moving into the start of September, the north and west may see periods of rain which could occasionally spread further south and east. Some brighter and more settled periods are also expected, especially across the southern and eastern parts. Temperatures are likely to trend above average with the chance of occasional very warm spells.
