    Andy is the Head of the Ocean Forecasting Research and Development (OFRD) group and co-chair of the National Partnership for Ocean Prediction (NPOP).

Isabella develops the Shelf Seas Forecasting configurations of the Forecasting Ocean Assimilation Model (FOAM), and is the Copernicus Marine service manager.

Chris develops WAVEWATCH and nearshore wave model configurations in support of Met Office operational marine forecast services.

David develops marine biogeochemistry data assimilation systems.

Simon manages a team that develops the Operational Sea Surface Temperature and Sea Ice Analysis (OSTIA) products and works to optimise the use of observations for ocean forecasting.

Jian-Guo Li works on ocean surface wave spectral models and is especially interested in transport schemes on unstructured multi-resolution grids.

    Matt leads the research and development of marine data assimilation systems in the Met Office.

    Niall develops tools and methods for assessing the performance of ocean forecasts and assists users looking to exploit ocean forecasts.

Breogan manages surge and wave model research into operations, delivering models that underpin short range forecasts for the marine sector, coastal flooding and the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service.

Toby works on software related to the OSTIA system and observations processing for ocean forecasting.

Peter leads the shelf seas sediment modelling capability and works on the assessment and transition of operational ocean forecast systems.

Marina is manager of the Shelf Seas Forecasting team and leader of the Copernicus Monitoring and Forecasting Centre for the North West-European Shelf

    James works on data assimilation in marine systems; of particular interest is data assimilation in shelf sea models and assimilation of diurnal sea surface temperature.

    Kirsten coordinates the GODAE OceanView Program Office and leads the MyOcean Service Desk support group.

  • Mark Worsfold

Mark uses the OSTIA system to generate historical sea surface temperature datasets which can then be used by climate researchers. He also researches methods of detecting marine heatwaves.
