Neill is a scientist working on the use of GNSS radio-occultation observations in weather forecasting.

  • Dr Michael Cooke

    Mike's research is aimed at improving satellite image data processing, interpretation and assimilation capabilities at the Met Office.

  • James Cotton

    James is a research scientist working on scatterometer winds and Atmospheric Motion Vectors.

  • Dr Ian Culverwell

    Ian works on the use of Radio Occultation data in Numerical Weather Prediction and Climate Research.

  • Dr John Eyre

    John leads research and development to improve exploitation of satellite data in numerical weather prediction and other applications in weather and climate.

  • Dr Mary Forsythe

    Mary's role is to lead and manage the Satellite Winds and Active Sensing Group.

  • Dr Peter Francis

    Pete carries out research aimed at improving satellite image data processing, interpretation and assimilation capabilities at the Met Office.

  • Gemma Halloran (nee Bennitt)

    Gemma is a research scientist working on the use of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) Water Vapour and space-based Doppler Wind Lidar observations in NWP (Numerical Weather Prediction).

  • Dr Lee Hawkness-Smith

    Lee works on the assimilation of radar reflectivity. He works in the Data Assimilation @ Reading Group based at MetOffice@Reading Unit at the Department of Meteorology, University of Reading.

  • James Hocking

    James works on the development of fast radiative transfer models.

  • Graeme Kelly

    Graeme works on Variational Analysis with a particular interest in the use of satellite data.

  • Dr Simon J. Keogh

Simon's role is to lead and manage the Satellite Data Products and Systems Group.

Owen works on the use of Ground-based Global Navigation Satellite System and Radio Occultation data in Numerical Weather Prediction.

Franco leads the Satellite Imagery Applications Group.

Stuart is researching improvements to the way satellite observations from space are used in the Met Office's daily weather forecasts.

  • Dr Yaswant Pradhan

    Yaswant's research is aimed at improving satellite image data processing, interpretation and assimilation capabilities at the Met Office.

  • Dr Samantha Pullen

    Samantha is the manager of the NWP Satellite Applications Facility, and also carries out work aimed at assimilating information about the land surface, derived from satellites, into the Met Office's Numerical Weather Prediction system.

  • Dr David Rundle

    David works on improving the performance and functionality of the fast radiative transfer model, RTTOV.

  • Cameron Saint

    Cameron is a scientist at the Met Office whose research is aimed at improving satellite image data processing and interpretation capabilities, particularly regarding the imagery of volcanic ash.

  • Dr Roger Saunders

    Roger manages and carries out research to develop our use of satellite data for assimilation into NWP models and satellite imagery for forecasting, and promoting the use of satellites for climate monitoring.

  • Dr David Simonin

    David's current work focuses on the assimilation of radar derived refractivity change observations in high-resolution convective-scale NWP models. He works in the Data Assimilation @ Reading Group based at MetOffice@Reading Unit at the Department of Meteorology, University of Reading.

  • Dr Ruth Taylor

    Ruth works on improving satellite image data assimilation capabilities at the Met Office.
