Terms of Reference 4D-Trajectory API (4DT)

Please read and understand our terms of use for the 4D-Trajectory API.

4DT provides a range of forecast weather parameters and aviation hazards at height and is made available in CovJSON format, via an application program interface (API) using an access token. 

Users of 4DT will be provided with supporting API documentation which contains instructions around the use of the API, how to access the API, sample calls and responses and FAQs. 

Use of the 4DT API is subject to a fair use policy to maintain acceptable performance of the API for all users. 

If your company wants to sign up for the 4DT product the following will apply: 

  • The customer will need to complete a Met Office Order Confirmation which includes the scope of supply, the price and payment terms and the applicable legal terms.  It also includes restrictions on the use of the API.
  • The customer is granted a licence to use 4D-Trajectory API Data within the customer’s specified application.
  • The customer is granted a licence to use the Met Office API.
  • The delivery platform supporting the Met Office 4DT product is supported by Amazon Web Services and certain legal terms apply to its use.
  • The customer is only permitted to use in the 4DT product in accordance with the legal terms referred to in the Met Office Order Confirmation.
