UK 5 day weather forecast
Cloud and rain arriving from the west today.
It's a bright start for many in central and eastern areas, but cloud and rain will arrive from the west through today. There will be some heavy bursts over western hills, and it will become breezier into the afternoon.
Rain continuing for many in the north. In the south it will be a drier picture, with the rain mainly restricted to the western sides of hills. A mild night.
Rather cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heaviest on western hills, where extensive low cloud and hill fog is likely. Drier further east with some bright spells. Feeling warm and humid.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Increasingly warm and humid and potentially hot in the southeast at the weekend. Rain at times in the north and west. Risk of thunderstorms in England and Wales on Sunday.
UK long range weather forecast
Sunday will see warm conditions for many areas, locally very warm in the southeast where the brightest conditions are likely. It could also feel quite humid. Scattered thundery showers may break out during Sunday, with cooler fresher conditions already in the northwest spreading southeast to most, if not all parts by Monday. During next week, cooler, changeable conditions are likely across the UK, especially the northwest. However, periods of wet and sometimes windy weather are likely to affect many areas, with occasional heavy, thundery showers possible anywhere during this period. Any drier, warmer spells are most likely in the south and east. Confidence in the forecast drops towards the end of next week but there is a possibility of spells of more settled weather generally across the UK.
Whilst confidence is low throughout, the most probable trend for this period is for a relatively mixed weather picture, although overall more settled than the first part of June. This is especially the case in the north and northwest of the UK, where it is likely to be much warmer. Whilst this is likely to bring spells of dry and often sunny weather, occasional outbreaks of heavy, possibly thundery showers may develop anywhere. Late in the month, there is a possibility of more unsettled conditions returning with longer spells of rain across the UK at times, perhaps with some stronger winds. Temperatures will be near normal or warm overall for the time of year, warmest conditions most likely in the southeast.
