When is the best time to visit Seville?
Southern Iberia lies not too far from North Africa, with Seville experiencing scorching sunshine during the summer months. The hot, dry conditions sometimes cause the mercury to rise above 40 Celsius, and barely any rain falls. If you prefer the heat to be less intense, then the rest of the year still offers warmth and sunshine for exploring the rich culture of this magnificent city; in spring and autumn temperatures are still in the 20’s Celsius on average.
Spring
In spring, it is hot (but not scorching) with average highs reaching 21 Celsius in March, 24 Celsius in April, rising to 28 Celsius in May. There is more rainfall than in summer, but with only 30-50mm on average, this is still dry compared to the UK. Spring is Seville’s windiest season, so be prepared for it to feel a little fresher than the temperatures suggest when the breeze blows.
Summer
If you’re looking for scorching hot sunshine and clear blue sky, then the summer months are the best time for you to visit. With as much as 12 hours of sunshine on average per day, it is not often there is a cloud in the sky. These are the driest months too, with less than 3mm rainfall on average per month.
Autumn
September is the best month to visit during autumn, with the least amount of rainfall (34mm), the most amount of sunshine (9 hours) and the highest temperatures (31 Celsius). Heading through October and November, the weather steadily gets less hot, cloudier, and these are the months where you are most likely to see rain in Seville. However, even in November temperatures are still a balmy 20 Celsius on average and there are a good 7 hours of sunshine on average per day.
Winter
Seville can be a great place to catch some winter warmth, and although there is a chance of seeing cloudier skies and some rain at times, average daytime temperatures are still a mild 16 to 18 Celsius, compared to only 6-10 Celsius across the UK.
