UK forecast for the next 5 days

Plenty of dry, bright weather this weekend but some exceptions.

    Today:

Many areas starting quite cloudy but a better chance of seeing some sunshine at times by afternoon. A few showers scattered around, but these mostly light. Parts of northern Scotland wet and cool, with some heavy rain, easing later.

    Tonight:

Rain across northeast UK continuing to ease. Many areas dry with some clear spells; perhaps turning chilly in north. Southwest corners of England and Wales may see patchy rain later.

    Sunday:

Many areas dry with some warmish sunshine. Odd light showers, mainly across northeastern regions. Southwestern and some central areas cloudier, rain probably reaching parts of Wales, west and southwest England.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Turning more unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain for most areas at times but also some drier and brighter interludes. Temperatures around or a little above average.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 15 Sep 2021 to Friday 24 Sep 2021:

It will probably be turning warmer but more unsettled again during the middle of next week with a chance of showers for most areas, these potentially heavy and thundery in places, especially across central and southern parts. Towards the end of next week and thereafter, there is an increased chance of Atlantic systems arriving from the northwest. This will see spells of rain move across the country followed by brighter but showery periods. Some windy spells are also possible at times. It will likely be wettest in the northwest with the best of any drier weather in the southeast. Temperatures will be fluctuating around average for most, with a chance of some warm spells in the south.

UK Outlook for Saturday 25 Sep 2021 to Saturday 9 Oct 2021:

Confidence is typically low. The most likely scenario is that conditions remain more unsettled overall from mid-to late September, beyond which a trend to more settled conditions is probable, especially across the south. Within the unsettled period there is a very low risk of very disturbed, perhaps stormy conditions. Rainfall expected to be above average, although may trend to near or drier than average late into September and into early October. Temperatures likely to remain above average throughout.
