    Outbreaks of rain on Wednesday, often heavy. Largely dry but breezy at first on Thursday, rain later. Colder on Friday with the likelihood of showers, wintry over the hills.

    Rather cloudy for most with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading east, heavy at first and initially wintry over Scottish hills. Some brighter spells will develop, mostly to the east of high ground. Much milder except in northern Scotland.

    Tonight:

    Further rain spreads in from the west overnight, heaviest in the north with some hill snow possible in the far north. Mostly dry in the south, but rather cloudy. Mild.

    Tuesday:

    Rain across Scotland on Tuesday, some heavy and perhaps turning wintry over the highest ground in the far north. Very mild and mostly cloudy elsewhere with rain in places. Breezy.

    Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

    Rain or showers, some heavy affecting many areas, along with strong winds for some. Later, colder, brighter conditions spreading to most areas, with night frost and wintry showers.

    UK Outlook for Friday 24 Nov 2017 to Sunday 3 Dec 2017:

    Friday will probably be wet and windy for many, with heavy rain pushing across most parts, perhaps giving some hill snow in Scotland. It is likely to be mild in the south, but rather cold in the north. Over next weekend, wet and windy weather will predominate, especially for central and southern areas, and temperatures will be mainly above average here. There will be some brief spells of drier, brighter, and perhaps showery weather too. Further north it will probably be drier and brighter generally, but cold at times with some wintry showers over higher ground. Towards the end of the month confidence becomes low, but it looks likely that the mixed weather conditions will persist, though may be interspersed with some drier, brighter and colder interludes.

Looking ahead into the rest of December, some periods of wet and perhaps windy weather remain likely at times but there is a small chance that more settled weather will prevail across all parts, bringing some dry and bright days, but cold and frosty nights. However, confidence is very low.
