    Patchy cloud increasing through the morning with perhaps rain over the Derbyshire hills. Cloud breaking up into isolated heavy, locally thundery showers later. These dissipating late afternoon. Maximum Temperature 23 °C.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

    Bright or sunny, largely dry on Sunday. Breezy overnight. Wind easing later on Monday. Becoming warm and largely sunny Monday and very warm Tuesday, though cloudier over hills.

    This Evening and Tonight:

    Heavy showers and some thunderstorms will develop over parts of Northern Ireland and southern Scotland this evening, before moving northeast over Scotland tonight. Further rain, heavy at times, will affect southern parts of the UK overnight. Warm and humid.


    Heavy rain clearing far southeast first thing. Elsewhere, sunny spells and heavy thundery showers breaking out, especially central and eastern parts. Fewer showers in the west. Warm in the southeast.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

    Dry and warm across England and Wales Sunday, but turning wet and windy in northwest. Rain continuing in northwest Monday and occasionally Tuesday, generally dry elsewhere. Becoming hot in southeast.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

    UK Outlook for Wednesday 24 Jul 2019 to Friday 2 Aug 2019:

    This period will tend to see a northwest to southeast split in the weather across the UK, with northwestern parts experiencing spells of rain, which could be heavy at times, as well as some periods of strong wind bringing a risk of coastal gales. By contrast, southern and southeastern parts of the UK should see much drier and warmer weather, which could be hot and rather humid at times, especially in the first half of the next week. Thunderstorms could develop as any hot, settled weather breaks down from the west. Beyond that, the forecast is more uncertain, but overall the northwest to southeast split will most probably continue. The south and southeast are likely to see some rain but it will be less frequent than in the northwest.

    As we move into early August, the final month of the meteorological summer, confidence is low in the forecast with no one single weather pattern looking to dominate. As is often the case in summer, this could well mean plenty of fine, dry weather, interspersed with occasional rain or thundery outbreaks, leading to marked local variations in rainfall. Temperatures are likely to be above average, perhaps more especially in the south and west.
