    Tonight:

    There will be further showers this evening and tonight, some quite heavy, but generally of rain away from the higher hills. Some clear intervals too with a risk of ice. Minimum Temperature 2 °C.

    Friday:

    A mostly dry and bright day with some sunny intervals. A few showers here and there, again falling as rain away from the higher hills. Breezy especially North Channel coasts. Maximum Temperature 6 °C.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    Cloudier on Saturday with a few showers. Some rain on Sunday and turning milder. Dry and rather cloudy on Monday, and on the mild side.

    Sunshine and scattered showers, some wintry.

    Today:

    There will be sunshine and wintry showers, with some longer spells of rain, or snow at times in the west. The best of the sunshine will be in the east. Staying windy in the south, but winds easing further north.

    Tonight:

    A mix of clear spells and showers overnight, the showers wintry in places. Strong winds will affect western and later northern areas. Frost, ice and patchy freezing fog forming.

    Friday:

    After starting cloudy in some areas, Friday will be a cold day with plenty of sunshine. However, brisk northerly winds will bring a scattering of showers to windward coasts throughout.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    Bright, but chilly in the east Saturday. Patchy rain further west. Turning milder, wet and windy Sunday. Fine for many Monday, with patchy fog, but windy and damp far north.

    UK Outlook for Monday 18 Dec 2017 to Wednesday 27 Dec 2017:

    Monday should be a dry and bright day across the country, however cloud and outbreaks of rain could spread across the north overnight and into Tuesday morning. Tuesday will probably stay dry and fine in the south though. Temperatures are likely to vary around normal in southern parts, but it could turn milder across the north Through the rest of the period, milder but unsettled conditions are likely persist in northern parts with bands of rain and hill snow interspersed by drier interludes. It may become very windy at times later next week with gales or severe gales in places. Further south it is more likely that largely settled conditions will dominate with overnight frosts and a risk of fog. However, brief wet and cloudy spells are possible here too.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 28 Dec 2017 to Thursday 11 Jan 2018:

    Generally changeable conditions are likely to extend further south through the end of December. Bands of rain are likely to move across the UK, interspersed with brighter showery conditions. Showers are likely to turn wintry at times, particularly in the north. It will often be windy with temperatures varying around normal. As we head into the start of January there is large uncertainty. However, a generally more settled spell of weather could become established. This would likely bring a mixture of colder and drier conditions with brief interludes of milder, wetter and windier weather. Snow is likely at times, especially in northern and central parts of the UK, as well as an increased likelihood of overnight frosts.
