    The odd shower may linger this evening and overnight but on the whole it will be dry with clear spells, giving a chilly feel. Minimum Temperature 2 °C.


    A sunny morning with a mix of sunshine and showers tomorrow afternoon. Feeling cool in gusty northerly winds. Maximum Temperature 12 °C.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    Staying windy, particularly in the east, over the weekend but largely dry with a good deal of sunshine. Some wet weather on Monday but with lighter winds.

    UK forecast for the next 5 days

    Unsettled and cool for many, but parts of Scotland fine.


    Many southern and central areas seeing some sunshine but also bands of showery rain, some of this heavy. Showers accompanied by strong, gusty winds in places, accentuating the cool feel. Parts of northern UK fine after a chilly start.


    Strong winds and heavy showers, with possible thunder, affecting parts of south Wales, then some southern and eastern counties of England. Further northwest plenty of clear, chilly weather.


    Eastern England seeing some heavier rain with strong winds; feeling cold. Elsewhere, scattered showers near some coasts but mostly dry inland, where cool feel offset by sunshine and light winds.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    Plenty of fine, dry, albeit cool weather with chilly nights. This away from the extreme east, where cloudier, windier, with some rain at times. More changeable by Monday.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

    UK Outlook for Monday 28 Sep 2020 to Wednesday 7 Oct 2020:

    Cloud and outbreaks of drizzle affecting the east and west at first with dry weather in between on Monday. Initially many places dry Tuesday before cloud and rain arrive later. Into the middle of next week, it is set to return to unsettled conditions. There will be generally windy weather coupled with showers and occasional longer spells of rain at times. The heaviest rain most likely in the west and northwest, which may also see gales, low likelihood of severe, at times. Although in the east and southeast, there may still be brief interludes of drier and sunnier weather. Temperatures will generally be rather cool, potentially cooler in more persistent rainfall, and overnight frost may be seen in prone parts of the north during any brief interludes of calmer weather.

    Further into October, conditions are likely to remain unsettled for most. The most unsettled conditions being in southern areas. Generally windy with a chance of gales however the risk of gales reduces later in the period. Feeling cool throughout with a risk of overnight frost. Lighter winds means that morning fog patches may also become more prevalent towards mid-month.
