    Some brighter spells this morning, particularly towards the eastern coastal fringes, but cloud thickening from the west to bring some patchy light rain, which turns more persistent by mid-afternoon, with a chance of heavier outbreaks towards early evening. Maximum Temperature 16 °C.


    Overcast with rain, which turns heavier at times during the evening, before easing overnight. Winds freshening along east coast. Relatively mild. Minimum Temperature 9 °C.


    Cloudy morning with rain, which turns heavier at times. Slowly brighter spells spreading from southwest during afternoon, with most seeing a fine end to the afternoon. Maximum Temperature 14 °C.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Occasional weakening rain bands spreading from west, but most outbreaks very patchy with good bright or sunny spells developing east of Crieff. Southerly winds occasionally strong.

    Wet and windy weather spreading across northern and some western parts today, with some heavy rain likely across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Elsewhere, staying largely dry with warm sunny spells, although the odd spot of light rain is possible.


    Outbreaks of rain continuing over Scotland, Wales and western and northern parts of England. Staying mostly dry across the rest of England. Rain clearing Northern Ireland with clear spells developing.


    Cloud and rain, heavy at times, spreading slowly and erratically east across England and Wales, but staying largely dry in the southeast. Turning brighter to the west, with scattered showers.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Staying mostly dry, bright and warm in the south and east with sunny spells. However, bands of rain and strong winds moving across the north and west at times.

    UK Outlook for Monday 25 Sep 2017 to Wednesday 4 Oct 2017:

    Next week there will be plenty of dry weather, but there will be light rain for a time. It will be rather warm during the day time, but it is likely to be chilly at night with some mist or fog patches possible, which may last well into the morning on some days. The second half of the week will be more unsettled with wet and windy weather more likely in the northwest, with a risk of gales or perhaps severe gales. The best of the drier and brighter weather will be in the southeast. Into the start of October there is an increased chance of all parts seeing the unsettled conditions, with rain and stronger winds likely at times.
