UK forecast for the next 5 days

A lot of dry weather with some brightness. Windy later.

A cloudy and occasionally damp start to the day. However, some bright or sunny spells will emerge in the afternoon. Later in the day a zone of wet and windy weather arrives in western parts with coastal gales likely.

    Tonight:

Winds strengthen, especially across the west with severe gales expected around coasts. Elsewhere a band of rain travels northeastwards and blustery showers or spells of rain will affect western parts.

    Saturday:

Very windy with gales or severe gales in places, especially in the south and west. Bands of heavy showers or longer spells of rain will move across most parts.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Improving picture on Sunday as wind and rain ease. Remaining breezy but mild next week with further rain, especially in the south. Becoming brighter and more showery in the north.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Tuesday 24 Oct 2017 to Thursday 2 Nov 2017:

Tuesday and Wednesday look generally rather windy with gales possible in exposed areas, especially in the northwest. There will be showers or longer spells of rain for many, perhaps persistent in the south. Confidence in the forecast reduces during the remainder of October into early November. However, a northwest to southeast split is most likely. The northwest should continue with some wet and windy weather interspersed by brief brighter, showery interludes, whilst the southeast will be best placed to have more prolonged drier spells. Temperatures are most likely to be slightly above normal. Having said this there is a chance of more settled, colder conditions becoming established with morning fog patches, especially in the south.

UK Outlook for Friday 3 Nov 2017 to Friday 17 Nov 2017:

Confidence in the forecast during this period is very low. However, on balance it appears that the early part of November will most likely be changeable with near average temperatures. There is an increasing chance of more prolonged settled spells developing by the end of the first week of November, which may continue into mid month, especially in the south. This would lead to an increased chance of frost and fog. However, northern areas could hold onto more in the way of wind and rain at times. Temperatures should stay mostly near or perhaps slightly above average, although probably dipping to below average in any more settled spells.
