Denmark Strait

Mainly cyclonic 6 to gale 8, but perhaps northwesterly 7 to severe gale 9 at first near parts of the greenland coast, then becoming easterly or northeasterly 4 to 6 in south and mainly northerly 4 to 6 in north. Moderate or rough. Mainly fair then snow showers, mainly in north. Good, occasionally poor in north. Occasional light icing at first in far north, with temperatures ms02 to ms04.

North Iceland

In west

Variable or cyclonic 3 to 5 becoming northerly or northwesterly 5 to 7, increasing gale 8 at times. Moderate or rough in north, rough or very rough in south. Mainly fair at first in south, otherwise snow showers. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor. Light or moderate icing developing in north, with temperatures ms02 to ms05.

In northeast

Southerly or southeasterly backing northeasterly, 3 to 5. Moderate or rough. Snow showers. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor.

In southeast

Northerly or northwesterly 5 to 7, occasionally gale 8 in far south. High at first in far southeast, otherwise rough or very rough. Sleet or snow showers. Moderate or good, occasionally very poor.

Norwegian Basin

In area to the west of 01 east

Northerly gale 8 or severe gale 9 backing northwesterly 6 to gale 8. Very rough or high. Squally wintry showers. Moderate or poor.

Cyclonic 7 to severe gale 9, occasionally storm 10 at first in north and 6 at first in south, becoming mainly northwesterly later. Rough at first in south and east, otherwise very rough or high. Rain or showers, squally and wintry at times. Moderate or good at first in south and east, otherwise moderate or poor.

Outlook for following 24 hours

Severe gales expected in West Northern Section, West Central Section, Denmark Strait and Norwegian Basin. Gales expected in Faeroes, Southeast Iceland and north Iceland. Risk of gales in East Northern Section and East Central Section.
