The ridge of high pressure extending westwards across the British Isles will start to decline slowly into the weekend, but it will still maintain relatively light winds with fog patches across northern parts. Stronger easterly or northeasterly winds will affect southern areas at times with heavy showers and a risk of thunder at times.

Cape Wrath to Rattray Head including Orkney
