28 March 2010
Our forecasters are predicting a spell of very unsettled weather to affect much of the country in the coming days.
In addition to heavy rain, some parts of northern England and southern Scotland could see a spell of heavy snow, especially over higher ground, bringing the risk of some travel disruption.
Chief Forecaster, Will Lang added: "March weather is often very varied and snow is not unusual at this time of the year. Although there is some uncertainty about exact amounts of rain or snow, we will be closely monitoring this developing situation.
