Seasonal expertise to minimise disruption

Extreme temperatures and intense rainfall can have an effect on planned activities such as line painting, resurfacing programmes, surface dressing and road repairs. We have worked closely with our customers to understand these challenges and have created a package designed to help you prepare for challenging weather conditions.

Winter

Winter weather conditions such as snow, ice and heavy rain can pose serious challenges for those managing the road network. Ensuring safety, minimising delays and having confidence in gritting decisions are crucial elements for the road operator.

Our OpenRoad, Route Based Forecasting (RBF) and Route Optimisation services have been designed to help road maintenance operatives optimise their winter activities.

Summer

The winter weather is well known for its potential disruptions, however, summer can also present road operators with challenges. Summer, is not only the time of year where road networks experience increased traffic, but much of the UK's planned maintenance work is carried out during the warmer and drier months.

The OpenRoad summer package through forecasts of temperature, wind and rain hazards enables road maintenance decision-makers to plan road improvement schemes and day-to-day work schedules - minimising risk and disruption to employees and road users.
