What are our priorities and how are we doing

What are our priorities and how are we doing? Strategies and plans, performance indicators, audits, inspections and reviews

The Annual Report and Accounts

Provides a review of our main activities and performance against key measures, information on our plans for the future and our accounts for the relevant financial year, including:

  • Annual report
  • Details from Internal and external organisation performance reviews
  • Inspection reports
  • Business Performance Measures (included in the Annual Report and Accounts)

To encourage employee engagement in driving the performance of the Met Office, our Business Performance Measures (BPMs) are linked to corporate performance-related pay from which all employees can benefit. Progress against these measures is communicated to all staff through monthly briefings and appropriate action plans are formed where performance improvements are required.

 Corporate Plan

Our corporate plan and objectives help the Met Office to achieve its overall aim: To be recognised as the best weather and climate service in the world (copy available upon request, please Contact us).

 How are we doing?

We have an open and transparent policy on how well our public weather forecasts are performing. See how we are doing against our targets.
