Regional forecast for Wales

Cloudy, with some light rain at times.

Today:

It'll be a colder day than yesterday, especially in the east. Remaining rather cloudy with some patchy light rain and drizzle, mainly over higher ground. Turning drier later with some brighter spells possible in the south and east. Maximum Temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

A rather cloudy night with hill fog in places and possibly the odd spot of rain. Clear spells are possible in the south with the odd mist patch, cooler here. Minimum Temperature 3 °C.

Wednesday:

Wednesday will be a generally dry but rather cloudy day for all of us. Some brighter spells are likely, these mainly in the south. Maximum Temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

It will be mostly cloudy, damp and mild through the outlook period. There will be some bright spells at times too though, with patchy mist or fog overnight.

It'll be a rather cloudy day for most, with some rain across central and northern England, but it'll stay dry for many. Cold and bright conditions in south-eastern areas of England, but it'll be mild for northern and western UK.

Tonight:

Cloudy for most with a little light rain or drizzle and hill fog in places. Some southern and eastern parts of England probably clearer with a frost and localised fog.

Wednesday:

Another rather cloudy and mild day for most with a little light rain or drizzle in places. Cold in the south and south-east with some sunny spells possible here.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Largely cloudy with some outbreaks of light rain at times. Drier and brighter at times in the south and northeast. Relatively mild in the north, cooler towards the southeast.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Saturday 21 Jan 2017 to Monday 30 Jan 2017:

The current week is set to end with a continuation of high pressure across the UK. The south east and central areas will tend to turn colder and brighter through the weekend, and this brings a risk of overnight frosts and fog. Into the next working week, more unsettled conditions are likely to spread into the far north and west which will bring some spells of rain at times here. The unsettled and at times windy conditions are likely to spread south and east through the week, which will bring milder conditions to all and outbreaks of rain at times across the country. The bulk of the rain is likely to be in the west.

UK Outlook for Monday 30 Jan 2017 to Monday 13 Feb 2017:

Looking ahead to the start of February the most likely scenario is that Atlantic low pressure systems will bring spells of wet weather to all at times, though these will be interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Temperatures will generally be around average for this time of year, though it will turn milder again at times. However, there is possibility that an area of high pressure will become dominant again, especially into the second week of February, which could give colder, more settled conditions for all with the return of overnight frost and patches of freezing fog.
