Bright or clear spells and blustery showers. Remaining windy.

This Evening and Tonight:

Some rain at first then mainly dry with clear periods this evening. A few showers will return to western parts overnight, particularly northwestern Perthshire and Angus, these wintry on hills. Cold and windy with westerly gales. Minimum Temperature 3 °C.

Wednesday:

Windy with blustery showers, these more frequent in the north and west with hill snow. Brighter across Fife and the east coast with sunny spells, albeit with a wind chill. Maximum Temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Coastal rain and sleet during Thursday morning with snow inland, clearing later. Drier, brighter on Friday but still cold. Wet, windy Friday night and Saturday with rain preceded by snow.

It will be windy through this evening and overnight, with gales across Scotland. However, clear spells will start to develop across the north with a patchy frost forming. Elsewhere, it'll be cloudy and mild, with heavy rain for some.

Wednesday:

Wednesday will be windy for many, with sunny spells in the north, along with some showers. Further south it'll be cloudy and mild, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Storm Doris will sweep in from the west on Thursday, bringing widespread gales, with hill snow in the north. Friday will be drier, but wet and breezy again on Saturday.

UK Outlook for Sunday 26 Feb 2017 to Tuesday 7 Mar 2017:

Late February and early March look generally mild, changeable and unsettled at times, with Atlantic depressions pushing across the UK. This means there will be spells of rain, some of which could be heavy across high ground in the north and west, and accompanied by windy conditions, perhaps with gales at times, again more likely in the north and west. Showers in between these Atlantic systems could be wintry over northern hills. Some wind and rain is likely for the south and east too, though with more prolonged spells of drier and brighter weather in-between. Throughout this period there remains a lower chance that high pressure centred to the southwest of the UK may become more dominant and this would mean rather more settled conditions establishing themselves, with overnight frosts.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 8 Mar 2017 to Wednesday 22 Mar 2017:

For March there is a fair amount of uncertainty, but the weather is most likely to be unsettled at first. There will be spells of wet and windy weather, interspersed with brighter and showery conditions with some snow possible across the north of the UK. There will, however, also be some drier and brighter spells, particularly in the south and east where we may see some local frost and fog at times overnight. Temperatures are expected to be around average for the time of year but there remains a small chance of seeing a more prolonged cold spell, if settled conditions develop more widely. This is most probable later in the period.
