Forecast summary

Regional forecast for Grampian

Cloudy, wet and rather cool on Tuesday.

Today:

Persistent rain will spread to all parts through the morning with occasional heavier spells, but with some drier spells across western Moray too. Feeling quite cold in the fresh southeasterly winds. Maximum Temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Some late brightness far west otherwise it will remain fairly cloudy with outbreaks of mainly light rain or drizzle, this becoming confined over higher ground later in the night. Minimum Temperature 8 °C.

Wednesday:

A mostly cloudy start, but it will brighten up especially around the coasts, and then farther inland later in the afternoon. More cloud and rain arrives later in the evening. Maximum Temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Cloudy with persistent rain on Thursday, especially east. Strengthening east winds and rather cool. Drier brighter Friday with fresh northeast winds. Some rain later on Saturday with winds veer west.

Today:

Long outbreaks of heavy rain will continue in Scotland and especially in the north of England during the morning, and rain will affect most of the UK by the afternoon. Northern Ireland will become brighter though with heavy showers later.

Tonight:

Rain will intensify in eastern and south-eastern England during the evening and spread across the UK overnight, though it will be lighter and less continuous in Scotland and Northern England.

Wednesday:

Tomorrow will bring more spells of sometimes heavy rain, and only occasional drier and brighter spells, except in Scotland and East Anglia where rain will be less prevalent.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

More rain is likely on Thursday and Friday and it will feel rather cool. The north and west will become much more windy. Saturday looks like being drier for many.

UK Outlook for Saturday 1 Jul 2017 to Monday 10 Jul 2017:

We will see changeable weather over the weekend, with cloud and outbreaks of rain, along with heavy showers in the north. There will be some sunshine too, but it will be rather breezy. The following week will stay changeable with showers or longer spells of rain. There will also be some drier and brighter spells, which will be most likely in the south and east. In the northwest, showers are likely to be heavier, perhaps bringing a risk of thunder at times. It will sometimes be windy, especially in the north and west where there will be a risk of local gales at times. Temperatures are expected to stay near the seasonal average throughout, occasionally warm in the east, but locally rather cool in the west.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 11 Jul 2017 to Tuesday 25 Jul 2017:

The changeable weather is likely to continue in the north at first, bringing further showers or longer spells of rain with only brief bright or sunny spells in between. However, drier and warmer spells are likely to become more prevalent in the south and these may spread further north as we head into the second half of the month. These would bring more in the way of sunshine and higher temperatures, and there could be some very warm spells. However, an increase in temperatures would pose the threat of some thundery showers.
