  • UK 5 days
  • UK 6-30 days

Regional forecast for Yorkshire & Humber

Bitterly cold with further wintry showers.

Today:

A bitterly cold day with sunny intervals and wintry showers. These may be of rain or sleet at first close to coasts, but by evening they will mostly fall as snow. Strong winds will give a significant wind chill. Maximum Temperature 4C.

Tonight:

Further showers overnight, these likely to fall as snow away from coasts giving further accumulations, especially across the moors. Strong northerly winds will accentuate the cold. Minimum Temperature -1C.

Sunday:

Sunday will be another cold day, but away from coastal areas it will be largely dry. Some sunny intervals are likely but there will still be a cold northerly wind. Maximum Temperature 4C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Remaining cold throughout with widespread frost. Further snow showers likely, particularly on Tuesday and Wednesday when a northeasterly wind could help them move further inland.

UK forecast for the next 5 days

Cold and windy with further sleet or snow showers.

Today:

Wintry showers for many, hail and thunder possible. Some sunny spells in between, though staying largely cloudy towards the southeast. More persistent bands of sleet or snow over Scotland. Cold and windy with gales in the west, locally severe.

Tonight:

Holding onto the sleet and snow over Scotland. Further showers elsewhere, particularly towards the east and around western coasts, turning increasingly wintry from the north. Widespread frost and ice risk.

Sunday:

Sunny spells and wintry showers, these most frequent over exposed northern areas, and running down eastern and western coasts. Cold and windy with significant wind chill; very cold night following.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Further snow showers, mainly over exposed northern areas and towards the east. Risk of more persistent wintry precipitation in the southwest on Tuesday. Breezy and cold; overnight frost and ice.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Thursday 5 Feb 2015 to Saturday 14 Feb 2015:

The cold weather will continue through Thursday and Friday. There is likely to be a mixture of sunny spells and wintry showers, especially across northern parts and probably also to eastern areas, with widespread overnight frosts. There is a risk of more widespread rain and snow over western parts at this time too. From Saturday onwards, conditions are likely to become more influenced by the Atlantic, with temperatures gradually returning nearer to normal from the northwest, although the transition period will have the potential for further snow in places. Conditions will then remain changeable with unsettled periods of weather being interspersed by temporary settled conditions. Towards the middle of February there is a possibility that the more unsettled conditions will shift north, becoming more settled in the south.

UK Outlook for Sunday 15 Feb 2015 to Sunday 1 Mar 2015:

Whilst changeable Atlantic conditions will likely prevail at the start of the period, especially in the north, it currently looks most probable that a period of more settled weather will become established, at least for a time, across most parts of the UK with slightly drier, and colder conditions than average. Temperatures will be relatively cold across the UK, especially overnight, with frosts likely at times.
