Metocean and consultancy services

Our metocean services include:

  • Climatology studies

Monthly, seasonal, and decadal metocean statistics are available on a wide range of parameters covering the wave, wind, ocean, and shelf sea environments. Simple and effective analysis to characterise the environment you're working in.

  • Downtime and weather window analysis.

These range from the analysis of straightforward single operations, to modelling the delay associated with operations made up of multiple stages with different environmental thresholds. We are specialists in bespoke modelling of complex operations, with a focus on providing the most useful and clear statistics to help minimise downtime and to optimise operational planning.

  • High resolution wave modelling

Supporting coastal engineering or marine renewable projects needing high resolution outputs, we can build and implement SWAN models to downscale our hindcast wave mode.

Unique weather regime forecast that can be used to predict medium range future trends and consequences through the interpretation of large amounts of probabilistic data provided by ensemble forecasting up to 32 days ahead.

Train your staff to make weather observations in support of your offshore helicopter operations. We are a CAA certified provider of offshore meteorological training in compliance with CAP 437. Other courses are available and can be discussed with Met Office staff to meet your specific requirements.

The Met Office’s UK Marine and Climate Advisory Service (UKMCAS) is now operational and currently offers free at point of use access to five data products. These come in NetCDF format and are accessed via FTP/SFTP.
