A deep area of low pressure will be slow moving in the north Atlantic during Saturday, then moving steadily northeast into central Scotland during Sunday. Its associated fronts will spread northeast across most of the United Kingdom during Saturday bringing gales and heavy rain across many parts, with severe gales for a time in the west, and severe gales for many parts on Sunday.
