High pressure, over the United Kingdom, will decline, as occluding, Atlantic fronts make southeastwards progress. A warm front will approach western areas on Sunday night.
Cape Wrath to Rattray Head including Orkney - Strong winds are forecast
24 hour forecast: Southerly 6 to gale 8, increasing severe gale 9 for a time, veering west 5 or 6 later. Moderate or rough, occasionally very rough in north. Occasional rain, showers later. Moderate, occasionally poor, becoming good.
Outlook: West 5 or 6, decreasing 4 later. Moderate or rough, becoming very rough for a time in north, but slight later in Moray Firth. Showers, rain for a time. Good, occasionally moderate.
Rattray Head to Berwick upon Tweed - Strong winds are forecast

Channel Islands - Strong winds are forecast
24 hour forecast: Variable or north 1 to 3, becoming southerly by midday, increasing 5 to 7 during the evening, then becoming cyclonic variable, perhaps locally gale 8 by morning. Slight, increasing moderate to rather rough this evening, locally rough in the north overnight. Rain and sleet spreading from the west during the evening risk of snow Jersey eastwards. Good, becoming moderate to very poor in the evening.
Outlook: Northerly 6 to 7, perhaps locally gale 8, decreasing 3 to 5 during the morning, becoming variable 1 to 3 in the afternoon. Rather rough to rough, gradually decreasing slight during Sunday, with a swell. Rain and sleet, perhaps snow jersey eastwards, soon clearing occasional rain Sunday night. Moderate to very poor soon becoming moderate to good.
