An area of high pressure lies between the Faeroes and Iceland with low pressure over Scandinavia and cold northeasterly flow across the UK. A deep area of low pressure lies in the mid Atlantic, with other low centres in the Mediterranean and Black Sea. Pressure is high over eastern Europe and Russia.
