Met Office view of 0000 UTC surface analysis

A weak cold front lies across Scotland and the Irish Sea, with cooler air lying to the northwest of the front. Broadly spaced isobars across the UK indicate generally light to moderate northerly winds. Elsewhere low pressure lies over Scandinavia and northern Europe, bringing heavy and thundery showers to these areas.
