High pressure remains firmly in place in the Atlantic Ocean giving some brisk winds across the United Kingdom, indicated by the closeness of the isobars. Just off the east coast of the UK, a warm front joins a cold front which trail off across Europe, turning into an occlusion and eventually reaching an area of low pressure centred over northeast Poland.
