Weather report

More Heavy Rain expected for badly flooded areas.

10 to 15mm of rain has fallen on Cumbria this morning with more than this over the higher fells. The rain has eased in the last hour or so, but rain is expected to become much heavier again during the next few hours bringing 50 to 80mm of rain to some of the higher fells during the rest of today. The rain is likely to be accompanied by gales, these severe over higher ground and exposed coasts. Persistent rain should clear away towards midnight.
