Snow and ice warnings remain in force before the weather pattern shifts this weekend.

An Amber warning for snow has been issued, with a number of other warnings also in force with snow and ice on the way for some.

After a spell of persistent heavy rain, high pressure will settle the weather across the UK, bringing widespread cold conditions and some wintry hazards.
