Unsettled weather is expected across many parts of the UK over the next few days, with heavy rain and gale-force winds at times.
Exactly which regions of the country will see the strongest winds is uncertain at this stage. The latest information will be updated regularly on the Met Office website.
Met Office Chief Forecaster, Bob Wilderspin, says: "We are expecting severe weather over the next few days. We are monitoring how the situation develops, issuing forecasts and warnings to keep you updated. You are advised to keep up to date with the latest forecast on TV, radio or online."
An Environment Agency spokesman said: "We urge people to check the latest flooding situation and sign up to our free flood warnings service at http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/ or by calling 08459 88118."
At this stage, forecasts suggest that there may be a brief respite at the end of the weekend ahead of more unsettled weather into next week.
