Winter weather hazards are the focus for the forecast, with a number of warnings issued by the Met Office and the threat of snow and ice for some.

After a spell of persistent heavy rain, high pressure will settle the weather across the UK, bringing widespread cold conditions and some wintry hazards.

Further heavy rainfall will continue through the evening and overnight.

The Met Office is proud to announce the British Red Cross as its new charity partner, launching a unique three-year collaboration from 1 October 2025 to 31 August 2028.
