Heavy rain will move south today, followed by blustery wintry showers across the north. Dry at first in the south, but turning increasingly cloud with rain arriving later. Feeling chilly in the strengthening winds, with gales around some northern coasts.
Tonight:
Rain clears south this evening, followed by drier weather in the south with clear spells. Blustery showers continue in the north with snow over hills. Chilly with a patchy frost.
Monday:
Sunny spells and showers in the north, but these easing in the afternoon with hazy sunshine. Drier in the south with just the odd shower and hazy sunshine. Windy.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Turning drier and warmer over the next few days. Skies will be largely cloudy at times, but there will also be some sunnier interludes. Lighter winds and overnight frosts.

A broad northwest to southeast split is most likely during this period. The northwest is likely to be more unsettled with low pressure systems moving in at times, bringing periods of strong winds and showers or longer spells of rain. In the southeast, high pressure will have greater influence, with more settled, drier weather as a result. Temperatures overall are likely to be near to or slightly above normal, but there remains the chance of some overnight frost.

Any low pressure systems bringing wetter, windier weather are most likely to affect the north. Into late April, low pressure patterns may become more prevalent, with more unsettled, changeable conditions developing more widely. Temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly above normal.
