Climate resilient food systems - WCSSP case study

Through the WCSSP Programme, researchers around the world are improving our understanding of the current and future climate risks to globally important crops including maize, tea and sugarcane.

Agricultural systems are highly dependent on weather and climate. Through the Weather and Climate Science for Service Partnership (WCSSP) Programme, researchers are developing tools and services that can provide farmers and decision makers with the information they need to manage these risks

HadGEM2 family: Met Office climate prediction model

The HadGEM2 family of climate models represents the second generation of HadGEM configurations, with additional functionality including a well-resolved stratosphere and Earth System components.

were used in the Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The ENSEMBLES project also uses members of this model family. The standard atmospheric component has 38 levels extending to ~40km height, with a horizontal resolution of 1.25 degrees of latitude by 1.875 degrees
