Unsettled but mild during the next few days.
Band of rain continuing northeast across eastern areas this evening, with clear spells following behind, allowing some fog patches to develop. Further rain and strong winds however moving into the west later in the night.
A dry and bright start in northern Scotland, otherwise a rather cloudy day for many. Rain most persistent in the north and west with some eastern areas staying largely dry.
Unsettled during the rest of the working week with further rain at times, heavy in the west. Mild at first, but turning colder from the north with strengthening easterly winds.
Updated:
Many central and northern parts of the UK will likely be in a colder but drier regime than of late with overnight frosts, and a few showers near windward coasts in particular which may be wintry on high ground. However, it could remain cloudier, milder and wetter initially across some southern and southwestern areas, with some uncertainty as to how quickly this clears away to the south. It is most likely that the bulk of the UK will experience drier and colder conditions into the first part of next week. Later in the period there is increasing uncertainty, but a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall may return to near-average.
Updated:
Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
