Becoming dry for many tonight with showers in the north.
Cloud and rain will clear the southeast tonight, leaving many places dry but breezy, with clear spells. Heavy showers will spread across northern and western areas overnight, where it will be especially windy with severe coastal gales possible.
Blustery with sunshine and showers for many, these merging into longer spells of rain in the northwest. Staying breezy in the north but easing elsewhere by the afternoon. Feeling fresh.
Wet and windy in the south on Saturday, drier and brighter across the north. Colder but more settled for all on Sunday, before turning mild and unsettled again on Monday.
Updated:
Changeable and often unsettled conditions are expected across the UK during this period. Low pressure systems will tend to dominate meaning showers or longer spells of rain for much of the UK, though some brief drier, more settled interludes are also possible. The wettest weather is perhaps more likely in parts of the west, but heavy rain is possible almost anywhere at times through this period. The greatest chance of snow will probably be over northern high ground. Given the dominance of low pressure, strong winds are also likely at times. Overall, temperatures are predicted to be close to average, though colder conditions may occasionally encroach into northern areas. Some frost is to be expected where drier, clearer conditions develop overnight.
Updated:
The broadly unsettled conditions look set to continue through this period. Further spells of wet and windy weather seem likely, with perhaps more of a focus towards the northwest of the country. Some drier, more settled periods are possible, particularly in the southeast. Temperatures will probably be above average overall.
