Headline:

Unsettled at first but gradually turning drier and warmer.

Today:

Rain across northern Scotland will be slow to clear. Elsewhere sunshine and showers, these heaviest and most frequent across western areas, while parts of the east may remain dry. Temperatures still a little on the cool side.

Tonight:

Showers continuing across some western areas, perhaps merging into a longer spell of rain across parts of the southwest. Many central and northern areas becoming dry and chilly.

Monday:

Sunshine and showers for many, although parts of the north may remain dry. More persistent rain moves into Northern Ireland, Wales and southwest England by evening. Temperatures around average.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Unsettled at first with showers or longer spells of rain. Turning drier by Thursday for many and starting to become warmer.
