Convective-Scale Modelling Workshop
Registration is now open for the 7th Momentum Partnership Convective-Scale Modelling Workshop
The 7th Momentum Partnership Convective-Scale Modelling Workshop will take place from Monday 2 to Friday 6 November 2026, with participants joining either in person in Singapore or online.
Registration is now open for both in-person and online participants.
The workshop will bring together scientists, technical experts and collaborators from across the Momentum Partnership community to share progress and explore the latest advances in convective-scale prediction and regional modelling.
The workshop programme is currently being developed. Details of speakers, sessions and timings will be added to this page soon.
Workshop themes
This year's workshop will cover a wide range of topics at the forefront of convective-scale modelling, including:
- Convective-scale modelling: Challenges and opportunities
- RAL4, the fourth Met Office Unified Model–JULES Regional Atmosphere and Land Configuration.
- Working group (WG) updates: Near-surface processes WG, complex terrain WG, regional coupled WG, Regional (km-scale) climate WG, convection WG, urban WG and Data Assimilation (DA) WG.
- Machine Learning (AI for regional NWP, AI for regional climate applications)
- Look ahead to RAL5, the fifth Met Office Unified Model–JULES Regional Atmosphere and Land Configuration and beyond.
- CSET (Community Seamless Evaluation Toolkit) training.
Workshop format
The workshop will be held in a hybrid format. Participants can attend in-person at PARKROYAL on Beach Road, Singapore or join online via Teams, with further details to be provided closer to the event.
